Adventures travelling and volunteering in Tanzania

Karibu sana! This blog describes the adventures of an Aussie volunteering at the Kigamboni Community Centre in Tanzania in 2012. The Centre is run entirely by (mostly local) volunteers who offer all kinds of learning and talent development opportunities to over 300 disadvantaged children. These include academic classes, English, acrobatics, dance, handcrafts, sport, and much more. For more information, check out their website: I am now volunteering for a year in Jamaica and you can read about my adventures here:

  1. What a wonderful experience you’re having. I hope to make it to Tanzania one day and visit not only the famous wildlife, but also the local culture.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and subscribing. I’m so happy that you enjoyed the Short-trek Inca Trail post that I had there.

Hope to see you back soon!

    • Tanzania is incredible – beautiful place, and even more beautiful people. And Ngorogoro Crater is amazing for wildlife.

Really enjoying reading about your adventures too, keep it up! 🙂

  2. Hi Cat! I’m so incredibly thrilled that you’ve found your way to Tanzania. I’ve read all your posts and loved each one. You’re a spectacular person and I can’t wait to read about more adventures you have in Africa. How long will you be there for?

    • Me too. As you know, I really wasn’t sure I’d get there until just before I left! Thanks Sandra, you’re such a sweetie. I’m now back in Aus but did plenty of writing while I was there so will keep posting. (If you’re ever experiencing writers block I highly recommend a trip to Tanzania, cures it very quickly!) And I hope to get back over there soon.

  3. How wonderful, thank you for taking me along on your adventures!!
